The planning continues

Having just come back from a week Snowboarding, the house is looking a lot better as it once again has plaster on the walls. All we have to do now is fit the skirting, the arcitraving, paint the walls, replace the carpet, and clean all the dust and it'll be good to go!

*DEEP BREATH*

We're not going to be too busy in the coming weeks then (Work and trip planning aside!).

We have now booked our RV and have pencilled a route through the states, here is a map:

You can also see an interactive version by clicking HERE!!

This route would allow us to take in: Boston, New Hampshire, Montreal, Toronto, Pittsburg, Washington DC, Virginia Beach, Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Memphis, Colorado, Las Vegas, Death Valley, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Vancouver and quite a few National Parks!

Only 9 weeks to go! :)

With 11 weeks before we go...

We have decided that it would be a good idea to wreck the house before we rent it out. So on Saturday we started by demolishing the wall between the hallway and Dave-o's room. As you can see from the video the bedroom is now open plan.

On Sunday we then proceeded to remove the plastering in the hallway and down the stairs, great fun for a Sunday afternoon!

Here is the video:

I guess we really should tidy up before we leave!

A Year of Summer...

I thought it would be a good time to start the Blog for our journey. I am going to include some details of the planning stages (as if anyone cares!), the journey plan (places and dates) and the build up to the adventure!

We have tried to plan our route so that we stick to countries in the best seasons, we both love hot weather so planned the trip with this in mind. Hopefully we should have a year of summer and land back in the UK in time for summer! Well that's the plan anyway...

Since we started planning the trip we have been asking friends and family for their experiences of the countries we are travelling to and where they most recommend. We are still open to any suggestions for attractions or places to visit along the way, so if you have any please forward them on to me!

If you would like to meet us anywhere along the way just email me and we'll figure something out.

Here is an interactive map that shows our journey (if it works!) You can drag the map to move it around and click on the blue markers to show the dates.

A rough timescale for our travels is as follows:
April to July - New York to Los Angeles in an RV
August - Japan
August to November - China to Singapore overland taking in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia.
December - New Zealand
January to February - Australia
March - India

I will go into more detail at a later time, but for now all you need to know is that hopefully we'll be touring the US of A in one of these bad boys:

That is all for now, soon I will post up details of our overland RV schedule.
